Kristie Carrier
Councillor At Large
Thank You to all who put their trust in me to represent them and their interests for the next 4 years. This is an honor I do not take lightly and will always work hard to do what is in the best interest of our community.
Being raised for the most part of my life in Belledune, I attended Belledune School and graduated from Bathurst High School in 1995. I went back to school in 2004, attending NBCC Woodstock, where I graduated from their two-year program in 2006 with Honors and Highest Academic Standing in my field of sturdy, Graphic Arts.
After many years of trying to secure long-term gainful employment here on the north shore of NB I felt that if I wanted to do better, I needed to move west. In 2012, with the help of my sister Kendra and her husband Bob, my family and I moved to Regina Saskatchewan where I was able to secure a position with McDougall Auctioneers Ltd. I quickly moved up from reception to the advertising department. In 2013 we returned to our home in Belledune where I continued to work remotely for the company. Today, I run the advertising and telecommunication divisions for the company from an office here in Belledune where we currently employ 9 local people. I am very proud of this accomplishment as I know what it is like to want to remain where you call home and still be able to earn a living. I am grateful for the opportunities I have been given and hope to pay it forward by giving opportunities to others in our community.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time on our deck with my mother Karen and stepfather Keith. My husband Mike and I enjoy snowmobiling, as well as exploring in our Jeep or on our ATV. We also look forward to any time we get to spend with our adult children Kyle, Alice, and Cole. I am very grateful for the love and support of my family and friends, as it has given me the confidence needed to run for this position and voice my opinions. Thank you all.
