Councillor - Ward 3
I was born and raised in Belledune, attending Belledune School and graduating from Bathurst High School in 1988. I graduated from Saint Francis Xavier University (Antigonish, NS), in 1992, with a Degree in English and from Ryerson University (Toronto, ON), in 1995, with a Degree in Print Journalism. I lived in Grande Prairie, Alberta for eight years before returning home to Belledune in 2003, where I raise my daughters, Hannah & Chloë, with my husband, Jamie O’Rourke. I have had the privilege of working for CCNB Campbellton in the Academic Studies Department since 2007 as Coordinator and Instructor at the Belledune External Site.
I enjoy being an active participant in our Village, serving on various committees and volunteering for numerous events, among them the Canadian Mental Health Association NB, and Elementary Literacy Inc. I am now serving my second term on Municipal Council, and I sit on the Executive as Secretary/Treasurer of the Board of Directors for the Union of Municipalities of New Brunswick.
I am extremely honoured to be Councillor for Ward 3, and Belledune as a whole. I understand the issues facing this Village, and I have a passionate attachment to this community and its people. I will continue to be an enthusiastic and dedicated champion of our Village. I want to see Belledune thrive, to be the very best it can be; I will continue to work hard with my fellow Council members, staff, and villagers the next four years to make these goals a reality.
