Proposed By-Law Relating to the Election of Members of Council and the Establishment of Ward Boundaries


within the Village of Belledune 


Pursuant to New Brunswick Chapter 18, Local Governance Act, Section 43 & 44, the Council of the Village of Belledune will consider the passing of By-Law No. 04-2019, A By-Law Relating to the Election of Members of Council and the establishment of Wards within the Village of Belledune.


This By-Law proposes that the Council of the Village of Belledune shall reduce the Wards from three (3) to two (2) Wards by combining Wards 2 & 3 into one (1) Ward hereafter known as Ward 2 and Ward 1 remain unchanged.  The composition of Council hereinafter consists of five (5) Councillors – one (1) Councillor for each Ward (1, 2) and three (3) Councillors at Large and one (1) Mayor at Large.


The proposed By-Law will be considered for first and second readings at the Regular Council meeting scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on May 21, 2019 in the Council Chambers, Municipal Hall, 2471 Main Street, Belledune, New Brunswick.
